DTEX Systems Wins “Most Innovative Data Loss Prevention” and “Publisher’s Choice Insider Threat Prevention” in Global InfoSec Awards During RSA Conference 2022

After 2+ years, it was great to finally be back on-site at the 2022 RSA Conference (RSAC), the world’s leading information security conference and expo. It was even more exciting to kick off the week with two prestigious award wins from Cyber Defense Magazine (CDM), the industry’s leading electronic information security magazine, including Most Innovative Data Loss Prevention and Publisher’s Choice Insider Threat Prevention.

DTEX InTERCEPT™ is a first-of-its-kind Workforce Cyber Security & Intelligence solution that brings together the capabilities of Insider Threat Management, User and Entity Behavior Analytics, Digital Forensics, and Behavioral DLP in an all-in-one lightweight, cloud-native platform. Unlike legacy solutions, we recognize that the future of data loss prevention and protection is human-centric, not data-centric. As the only Workforce Cyber Intelligence platform to put humans at the center of an organization’s cybersecurity matrix, this global recognition is a testament to the success of DTEX InTERCEPT’s innovative approach to data collection and analysis that centers around human activity and intent, providing organizations with the context needed to escalate and remediate an event before malicious insiders attack, or data exfiltration occurs.

After collecting our trophies, we joined MITRE Corporation, Splunk, Forrester Research, and Deloitte Consulting at The Palace Hotel in San Francisco to host our long-awaited, exclusive Insider Risk Framework briefing and roundtable. The three-hour event titled ‘The Difference is Human,’ was a huge success and featured leading security and technology experts in the fields of law and public policy, behavioral science, cyber security, and enterprise risk and resilience about the growing importance of embedding behavioral science in the workforce cyber intelligence and security.

We began with The MITRE Corporation’s Julie Bowen, SVP of Operations, Outreach and Chief Legal Officer, Chris Folk, Director of Cyber Partnerships and Policy, and Dr. Deanna Caputo, Chief Scientist for Behavioral Sciences & Cybersecurity discussing the company’s research in the area of behavioral science and how these new techniques are serving as the foundation for MITRE’s new Insider Risk Mitigation Framework.

Following MITRE’s presentation, Joseph Blankenship, Vice President and Research Director of Forrester’s Risk and Security Practice, joined us to lead an executive roundtable discussion featuring special guests Jane Wong, Vice President of Security Products at Splunk, Scott Wilkie, Global Cyber Leader Defense, Security & Justice with Deloitte Consulting and our very own Mohan Koo, Co-founder and CTO at DTEX Systems.

The rest of the week was filled with countless on-site demos of our first-of-its-kind Insider Risk Management platform by the DTEX i3 team, during which we offered a first-hand look at recent product developments, research, and strategic partnerships. Much of the team’s time was spent briefing attendees on our groundbreaking 2022 Insider Risk Report, which was based on actual investigations conducted by the i3 team over the past year and identified the rise of the “Super Malicious Insider”, a new persona responsible for 32% of malicious insider incidents in 2021.

As we transition into the post-pandemic era, visibility into user behaviors and actions is becoming even more critical to thwarting insider threats and mitigating preventable risks rendering legacy security solutions less effective than ever before.
