The Next Step in End-to-End Encryption: Introducing EncryptReduce

This past March at RSAC 2019, Pure Storage and Thales introduced the security industry’s first end-to-end data encryption framework that realizes storage array data reduction efficiencies. Historically, host data encryption and array data reduction are like oil and water – they simply don’t mix. Our partner Vaughn Stewart from Pure Storage wrote about our work together to overcome this problem in this blog post.

This joint solution was met with extreme excitement by customers that were utilizing existing encryption technology at the expense of storage consumption. Since then, we have been working together to produce a general release of our joint solution and the time has finally arrived to unveil it to the world!

We are now pleased to share that Vormetric Transparent Encryption for Efficient Storage now works seamlessly with EncryptReduce from Pure Storage. With EncryptReduce, enterprises can enjoy end-to-end encryption and still take advantage of data reduction. This is an industry first for the storage array market and wasn’t possible before now.

For more information, please read this blog post from our partner Cody Hosterman at Pure Storage who is presenting the new EncryptReduce feature and how it works with our Vormetric Transparent Encryption for Efficient Storage for a VMware specific audience.
