BSides Charm has grown up fast!
This Maryland-based Security BSides event turns four this year and has become one of the more competitive cons for proposal acceptance and ticket sales. Most of the 400 tickets sold in their first round of sales on February 18th were purchased in less than five minutes. There are two more opportunities to get a ticket to one of the best Information Security events on the East Coast: March 2nd at 4:00 pm EST and March 7th at 1:00 pm EST.
In a previous Tripwire post about the con, “Big Changes for BSides Charm 2018,” it was stated that there were big plans in store for this year’s April 28-29 conference. Now there are details!
The confirmed keynote speaker is Jessica Payne (@jepayneMSFT), currently a member of Microsoft’s Threat Intelligence team of Windows Defender Research. The individual sessions vary in topics ranging from machine learning, operational security, drone jamming, malware analysis, incident handling, and more! View the BSides Charm speakers page for a full list of the robust topics.
If you want a deeper learning experience at the con, be sure to see all the extensive workshops and training events offered. “Binary Reverse Engineering for Beginners” and “Traffic Analysis Workshop” are just two of the offerings that will give any Information Security professional a career boost.
The popular Hiring Village is back, and in addition to learning about hiring opportunities, the village will offer time with career mentors and resume reviewers. Come prepared to meet, greet, and be hired!
BSides Charm isn’t all work and no play, though.
For the first time in its short history, the con will have a jam-packed line up of entertainment inside the venue of the Sheraton Baltimore North Hotel in Towson, Maryland.
