Advanced Power Tracking
Product Update: Version 4.8
This update brings key improvements to asset management and power tracking. Highlights include Template Power metrics in bulk actions, simplified rack layouts for easier asset placement, and advanced power sensors for detailed analysis. The upgraded asset discovery engine now supports more vendor asset types, streamlining management.
Microsoft Teams Notification Channels
Microsoft has recently announced the quick retirement of the Webhook interface in Microsoft Teams. In response to this change, we’ve updated our functionality to align with their new recommended approach.
Webhooks will still be used, but now they’ll need to be created through a Workflow instead of a Connector. You can find more details in the Microsoft documentation.
If you’re still using the old Webhook interface for notifications, it’s time to switch to the new method to keep them running smoothly. Need help or advice? Reach out to Hyperview support—we’re here to help!
Layout Editor Updates
We’ve added a “Multi Select” menu to the layout header action group, making it easier to select multiple components at once. You can now select all, choose all shapes, racks, or assets, or even use a rectangular selection box to grab items right from the layout. Once selected, you can remove or edit them as a group, depending on the context.
Also, the rack total power view filter just got smarter! It now dynamically reads the rack design value from the parent location and updates the color scheme automatically based on the settings.
Other Notable Enhancements
Template Power added to Bulk Actions
The Bulk Actions -> Update Asset Property bulk action has been updated to add Template Power.
Rack Layout Improvement
The rack layout has been improved so users can now place assets in both the front and rear of the rack within the same rack unit.
Asset Power Sensors
The power analyzer will now include other available power info, like metered outlets connected to the asset, and will calculate power metrics when possible. Note, this will add new computed sensors to help track the data.
Asset Discovery Enhanced
We’ve upgraded the discovery engine to support more asset variations from vendors like Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric/APC, and others. To make the most of these improvements, make sure you’re using the latest version of the Linux Data Collector.
