Classroom Manager: Online Classroom Management, Instruction, and Learning Made Easy

Technology is transforming teaching and learning in today’s classrooms by providing teachers and students with an ever-increasing array of digital tools and resources. The possibilities for innovation are endless, from video conferencing to virtual reality and artificial intelligence (AI). While implementing these tools comes with a learning curve, teachers are embracing them due to their positive impact on improving classroom instruction.

As technology takes center stage in education, one tool stands out: classroom management. In this post, we’ll introduce you to Classroom Manager by ManagedMethods—a solution designed to keep students, teachers, and administrators safe and engaged in the digital classroom.

Classroom Manager: Online Classroom Management, Instruction, and Learning Made Easy

Classroom Manager is the newest addition to our suite of cybersecurity and safety tools. It is an optional add-on to Content Filter that allows teachers to be flexible during instruction while maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Here are a few highlights we think you’ll benefit from while teaching:

Classes Tab: Your Command Center

The Classes tab is your central hub for managing digital classrooms. Here, teachers can:

  • View a summary of all active classes, including the number of students participating
  • Modify or remove classrooms as needed
  • Access and review classroom audit logs
  • Start a new classroom session

Once a session begins and students join, teachers gain real-time visibility and control over students’ screens through a screen-sharing feature. This allows teachers to:

  • Monitor students’ activities in real-time
  • Close distracting or unauthorized tabs with a single click
  • Remove absent students from the session
  • Create sub-sessions to monitor specific groups or individuals as needed

Session Management: Optimize Instruction Time

Every classroom has a defined duration, with a default of 60 minutes. Once the session ends, Classroom Manager automatically resets to its preconfigured settings. Any changes the teacher made, such as locked or blocked tabs, are cleared. This ensures that the next session begins with a fresh slate.

Scenes: Customized Learning Spaces

Classroom Manager also includes the ability to customize classroom sessions through Scenes. These prebuilt configurations allow teachers to:

  • Group students who need specific learning resources
  • Group students and apply specific online access controls
  • Support group projects and students needing additional focus/assistance

Focus Mode: Keep students on task

Focus Mode is a game-changer for students who struggle to stay on task. Found in the Policies tab under Scenes, Focus Mode:

  • Automatically closes all tabs and windows not allowed during class
  • It helps students keep their attention on learning materials

Whether used for group projects, individualized learning plans, or for students who need to remain focused, Classroom Manager gives teachers the tools to manage digital classrooms and enhance online learning experiences seamlessly.
