Bad Technology Configured Well Will Always Supersede Good Technology Configured Poorly
Many organizations need help recognizing the actual value of the technology they already possess. Marketing by technology companies tends to create confusion or make you question the technology you have already purchased. However, time and time again, it’s proven that the best technology might very well be the one you already have in place.
In our experience, most organizations that fall victim to security breaches do so because the technology meant to protect them is either partially deployed or configured poorly. We’ve seen countless instances where organizations attempt to implement new features that worked well in testing, only to find that once deployed in an operational environment, they cause significant disruptions. This often leads to management coming down hard on the IT team, creating a reluctance to attempt future enhancements and triggering a downward spiral of increased risk.
At SilverSky, our Lightning Managed extended Detection and Response (MxDR) service is designed to audit the effectiveness of your current technology. Our Security Operations Center (SOC) provides actionable recommendations to optimize your defenses.

A partnership with SilverSky goes beyond immediate solutions, offering a long-term strategy tailored to your needs. While your existing technology might not be the best fit in some cases, contractual obligations and budget constraints may require you to continue using it. In such scenarios, several adaptive paths can be explored:
Develop Creative Analytics: Complement the inefficiencies of your existing technology with innovative analytics solutions.

Conduct an Impact Assessment: Identify the potential business impact of a successful attack, which can help justify out-of-cycle budget requests.

Map a Long-Term Strategy: Align your security strategy with your business’s holistic technology landscape. For example, many organizations have underutilized security features within their Microsoft suite. Consolidating these features can free up the budget without compromising security.

In today’s rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape, the key to resilience lies not in acquiring the latest technology but in maximizing the potential of what you already have. At SilverSky, we believe that your current tools can be transformed into a robust defense mechanism with the proper configuration and strategy. By partnering with us, you’ll optimize your existing technology and gain a strategic ally in building a more secure future. Remember, the strongest security isn’t always about having the best tools—it’s about making the best use of them.
