Skyline AI Gains Visibility Into Serverless Security Posture With PureSec

About Skyline AI

AWS Builder Community Hub

Skyline AI is an artificial intelligence investment manager for commercial real estate. Skyline AI partners with leading commercial real estate firms to establish next-generation investment vehicles augmented by artificial intelligence. Founded in 2017, Skyline AI is backed by Sequoia Capital, JLL (NYSE: JLL), TLV Partners, Nyca Partners, DWS group and others. The company’s headquarters is located in New York.

Skyline AI leverages AWS Lambda to power its rapidly growing applications that use proprietary artificial intelligence to outperform commercial real estate investment benchmarks. Since Skyline AI’s applications deal with sensitive data and influence customer investments, ensuring application security is paramount.

“Skyline AI clients invest billions of dollars in real estate and thus keeping up with the latest security and privacy protection measures is something that is always a high priority for the company.”

Or Hiltch, Co-Founder & CTO at Skyline AI.

To ensure serverless application security the Skyline AI team needed:

  • Visibility into the security posture of their serverless applications
  • Visibility into cyber attacks targeting their serverless applications
  • Active runtime protection for serverless applications

Application layer protection solutions designed for traditional applications did not meet the needs as those could not be deployed on a serverless architecture.

The Skyline AI team chose to implement the PureSec Severless Security Platform (SSP) in order to ensure serverless application security and gain visibility and governance over the company’s serverless security posture.

  • Increased visibility into serverless applications, their threats, and suspicious function invocations
  • Increased security by integrating PureSec into the CI/CD process, which ensures that only secure applications are deployed to production environments
  • Increased security by deploying serverless functions protected by PureSec’s runtime protection technology
  • Reduced security administrative effort compared to traditional application security solutions
  • Increased serverless security awareness among developers

The Skyline AI team outlined the criteria for a new security solution. The company was looking for a serverless security solution that could provide visibility, runtime protection, policy enforcement, and hardening of the security posture of serverless functions. Traditional application security solutions proved unsuitable as they required infrastructure to be deployed on, which is irrelevant for serverless architectures. After evaluating their options for serverless security, the Skyline AI team chose to go with the PureSec SSP.

“PureSec developed a revolutionary solution for serverless security, which was simple to install, and allowed us to protect our serverless functions within minutes. From the moment we deployed the PureSec platform, we were able to monitor our serverless functions with unparalleled visibility, which we never had before.”

Or Hiltch, Co-Founder & CTO at Skyline AI.
