Introducing ZeroNorth – Security Orchestration Has a New Direction

As a security practitioner for the better part of the past 20 years, I have first-hand experience on how challenging it is for organizations to build secure enterprise software. I know how difficult this is to do as demands from the business force software development to accelerate and reach the continuous rate of deployment we see now.

Rolling out vulnerability-free code at this speed can be an enormous, if not impossible task, and that’s why I spent the last four years building a company to change that. After talking to countless security executives and considering the many changes in this fast-paced environment, it became clear that the issue is even bigger.

Organizations need to do more than secure code. They need a real-time, comprehensive view of the risks inherent in their software and infrastructure – across cloud, on premise and hybrid environments. And as they rely on multiple point tools to address different parts of these complex environments, they need a broader solution to orchestrate scanning and remediation.

This is why I’m excited to introduce ZeroNorth™ – the first company to provide this capability.

We’re broadening our focus beyond application security testing and adapting to the reality that software is omnipresent, powering everything from our phones and laptops to the cars we drive. ZeroNorth has a broader focus and the capability to orchestrate a company’s risk management while delivering a comprehensive, board-level view into an organization’s exposure to cyber risks. This is especially important as organizations undergo their digital transformation.

Along with the unveiling of ZeroNorth and the expansion of our team, we announced a $10 million Series A investment led by ClearSky Ventures with participation from Crosslink Capital, Rally Ventures and existing investor Petrillo Capital. As a result, I’m pleased to welcome Peter Kuper and Patrick Heim from ClearSky Ventures, and Art Coviello from Rally Ventures to join me and Enrico Petrillo on ZeroNorth’s board of directors.

With a broader focus and opportunity and a new brand to match, we’re ready to make proactive security a reality for organizations worldwide.
