Akamai Takes Home Three Streaming Media Readers’ Choice Awards
Streaming Media has announced its 2018 Readers’ Choice Award winners at Streaming Media West in Huntington Beach, Calif. Recognizing technological excellence in the online video industry, Streaming Media readers cast more than 25,000 votes across 30 categories. Akamai was honored to win in three categories: Analytics/Quality of Experience Platform, Content Delivery Network and OTT Platform for MSO & MVPD. We were also pleased to be named runners up in the Video Optimization Solution and Video Player Solution/SDK categories.

Akamai’s Broadcast Operations Control Center (BOCC) won the Analytics/Quality of Experience Platform. The BOCC helps ensure the reliability of live and live-linear OTT services through a combination of specialized staff and advanced diagnostic tools to that provide real-time support and operational insight for customers delivering critical video content.
The Akamai Intelligent Platform won the Content Delivery Network (CDN) category. The world’s largest and most trusted cloud delivery platform, the Akamai Intelligent Platform delivers 95 exabytes of data and ingests 2.5 exabytes of data every year, and interacts with more than 1.3 billion client devices each day.
Finally, Akamai’s Media Services Live was named the winner in the OTT Platform for MSO & MVPD category.
