Trusted Computing Group Japan Regional Forum to Host Discussion of Blockchain Technology

Regional Experts to Address Attendees Nov. 22 at 10th Annual Tokyo Workshop

PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 31, 2018Trusted Computing Group (TCG), a global security standards organization, and its Japan Regional Forum (JRF) will host a workshop November 22, 13:15 – 19:30, at Akihabara UDX Gallery Next 1, Tokyo to discuss trends, standardization and use cases for blockchain technology.

Workshop speakers and attendees will be welcomed by TCG board member and JRF Chairman Seiichi Kawano, Lenovo, noting that this event is the 10th annual workshop the JRF has hosted.

JPCERT Coordination Center (JPCERT/CC) Director Dr. Shinichi Horata will open the session with a look at IoT security issues. Yoshikazu Azuma, leader of the Integrated Integrated Platform Division, RICOH COMPANY, LTD., will follow with an outlook on blockchain futures.

Founder and President, Lepidum Co. Ltd. Tatsuya Hayashi will address characteristics of blockchain technology and potential standardization, followed by Toshihiro Imai of the Innovation Center Tokyo, Cisco Systems G.K. to discuss use cases of blockchain.

The session will close with a panel moderated by Dr. Sachiko Yoshihama, Senior Manager, FSS & Blockchain Solutions, IBM Research, Tokyo and panelists Azuma, Hayashi and Imai joined by Yoshimitsu Homma, president, Japan Digital Money Association, and Dr. Shigeya Suzuki, Project Associate Professor, Keio University.

Seigo Kotani, co-chair of the TCG Embedded Systems Work Group and TCG board member from Fujitsu, will offer closing remarks, including a summary of recent TCG publications and its contributions to automotive security in Japan.

The session will include a technology showcase during the networking dinner.
