An Evening of Browser Security: SquareX’s RSAC Networking Dinner

Engaging the cybersecurity community

As part of our activities at RSAC 2025 Conference, SquareX hosted an exclusive networking dinner for CISOs and security leaders at the St. Francis Yacht Club. The event brought together forward-thinking security professionals to discuss a critical question facing today’s enterprises: With the browser becoming the new endpoint, is it time to shift security focus upward?

Setting the Scene

Our team arrived early at the St. Francis Yacht Club, ensuring everything was perfect for guests. The venue offered breathtaking sunset views over San Francisco Bay — an ideal backdrop for meaningful conversations in a relaxed setting.

As our guests began arriving, the atmosphere quickly filled with animated discussions. Many attendees already knew each other from previous industry events, while others formed new connections over welcome drinks. Before we knew it, the room was alive with chatter!

The Browser Has Eaten the Endpoint… So It’s Time to Shift Up

The highlight of the evening was the panel discussion featuring two industry pioneers: our founder Vivek Ramachandran and special guest Jeremiah Grossman, Founder of WhiteHat Security and Grossman Ventures. With Security Researcher Audrey moderating, the conversation delved into why adversaries are increasingly targeting the browser and whether traditional security solutions are equipped to respond.

The discussion raised thought-provoking questions: Why do enterprises allow employees to install browser extensions arbitrarily without proper auditing or monitoring? Are traditional security solutions like SASE/SSE and EDRs sufficient for today’s browser-centric threats, or have they become increasingly obsolete? The audience was rapt with attention as both cybersecurity veterans expounded their views on such questions, with Vivek deftly making the case for browser-native security.

During the event, Vivek also introduced The Browser Security Field Manual, our latest publication designed to help security teams understand and mitigate browser-based threats. The book generated significant interest, with many attendees eager to get their copies signed by the authors after the panel.

Networking Over Fine Dining

Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed a carefully curated menu while engaging in lively discussions across every table. With excellent food and wine over an informal atmosphere, conversations flowed smoothly.

As the evening concluded, guests departed with signed copies of The Browser Security Field Manual, new connections, and fresh perspectives on browser security. Many expressed interest in continuing these conversations beyond the event, which we take as a promising sign that browser security is finally getting the attention it deserves.

Say “Browser Security”!

Our Thoughts

For the SquareX team, the success of this event has encouraged us to organize similar gatherings in other locations, creating spaces where security leaders can network, learn, and collectively advance browser security practices.

Team SquareX looks forward to organizing more community events

We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to all the security leaders who joined us at the St. Francis Yacht Club — we’re deeply grateful to have met every one of you!
