A New Era in Access Management

As we enter 2023, Gartner calls for convergence, resilience, and cost-effectiveness

In its new report, the 2022 Magic Quadrant for Access Management, Gartner® brings attention to the increasingly critical role of access management in the enterprise — along with the fact that it has become a prime target for attackers. The crux of the report reveals that modern threats and economic constraints demand more resilient and cost-effective access management.

It has become clear that enterprises need to evolve their CIAM and workforce strategies to reduce risk, create efficiencies, and support all their use cases.

In its Magic Quadrant report, Gartner provides a distillation of all its research on access management products, vendors, and industry trends. This year’s report highlighted several trends, including the need for identity threat detection and response (ITDR) to protect against breaches caused by credential misuse, which now represent 40% of all breaches. Gartner also identified journey orchestration as a way to reduce risk, cost, and complexity. Weak and compromised passwords remain a huge threat, and Gartner called attention to the need for passwordless and phishing-resistant authentication. Finally, the report emphasized the need for converged platforms, which improve security and create cost efficiencies.

We’re honored to have been named a Leader in this market for the third consecutive year by Gartner Inc. in their 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant for Access Management.

The enhancements we made to our CIAM solution are aimed at meeting the evolving needs of the enterprise — especially related to managing customers’ identities and making personalized journeys easier with new orchestration capabilities.

We are proud of the innovation and new capabilities we’ve introduced to the ForgeRock Identity Platform to help our customers manage, secure, and govern all their identities, and we’re excited about this year’s advancements in key areas:

  • Expansion of our platform’s orchestration engine with the broadest library of pre-built, no-code journey nodes
  • AI-driven access and governance for identity threat detection and response (ITDR)
  • Passwordless authentication that makes access more convenient for users and eliminates the threat of compromised credentials, the most common cause of breaches
