The Glorious Return of the 2022 Fraudie Awards
Esteemed Members of the Academy;
Last year, it was truly a dark day when we had to cancel the 2021 Fraud Academy Awards – known throughout the civilized world as the Fraudie’s. What a sad day it was indeed. There were many tears shed. So many of you reached out to express your concern for our future. Would there be any more fraud? Would we all have to get day jobs, like regular citizens? It is a thought that makes one shudder. To contemplate a life without fraud…is simply to contemplate no life at all.
However this year I am delighted to tell you all that we are back on. Yes, my friends the Fraudie’s are back! Despite some short-term setbacks the fraud industry is stronger than ever. Between ATOs, fake new accounts, phishing, scraping, refund fraud, crypto scams and so much more, we are living our best life every day.
And so to celebrate, at our annual convention and awards ceremony, here are the finalists for our “Fraud of the Year” award. As you know, some of our more enterprising members turn their real-life fraud attacks into films. Here’s four of the best.
Bot-fast: A poignant coming of age drama about a young fraudster who discovers the world of sophisticated, intelligent bots to carry out his heinous crimes.
Don’t Get Phished: This informative film teaches people how to recognize email and phone scams: but in a plot twist the film actually gives them bad information so they actually are more prone to getting phished! Genius!
Drive My ROI: A steamy art-house film about the secret places us fraudsters go to on the dark web to buy tools and trade tips on how to achieve ROI on our attacks.
The Power of the Bot Marketplace: This fast-paced thriller shows how aspiring fraudsters even with no technical knowledge can build bots to launch sophisticated attacks. Keep your eye on this one!
Well, there you have it friends, our nominees for the best fraud of the year. We’re so excited that we once again have this glorious chance to come together and celebrate the best and brightest in our industry after having to cancel the show in 2021. We will spare no expense in making the 2022 Fraudies the greatest show yet. There will be intricate ice sculptures! Catering from the finest restaurants and the most rare and expensive bottles of wine and whiskey that you have dared ever to lay eyes on.
Keep your eye out for the gold-plated invitations coming in the mail that should be arriving shortly. And stay tuned for when we unveil the winner of the Fraud of the Year award.
