A few years ago, the Project Management Institute (PMI) carried out an interesting study to find out how well or worse the IT projects go during the course of implementation. Its findings didn’t surprise anyone but they were clearly a reflection of the screwed state of IT implementations across industries. The PMI study concluded that 14% of the IT projects fail, 31% don’t meet their goals, 43% exceed their initial budgets and 49% run behind their schedule. Cybersecurity projects can be partly different in scale and objectives, and difficult to compare in letter and spirit, but the PMI study has a strong correlation to the problems of the information security world. At least, all of us would agree to the implementation pangs and deployment hurdles that cybersecurity projects often get into. Due to these impediments, there is often a mismatch in the envisioned cost, time and the final output. This is sufficient to leave customers dissatisfied and frustrated.
Furthermore, a delayed IT implementation is less likely to cause you as much trouble as a delayed cybersecurity implementation can. And this is well evidenced in the annual study conducted by IBM-Ponemon Institute that finds the average cost of a data breach reaching at $3.86 million in 2020. But more than the financial setback, a delayed cybersecurity project increases the risk of reputational harm, digital trust deficit, regulatory scrutiny and lawsuits.
Debunking the slow-deployment myths

As per Cyberinc’s Cyber Insights Report 2021, 64% of the organizations are willing to adopt remote browser isolation. Reaching out to such a huge market cannot be achieved without offering seamless deployment and user experience. Isla 6 comes with new Selective Isolation capabilities which allow for a fast, simple deployment and offers easy administrative control over what traffic needs to be isolated. It allows admins to segment traffic based on the category of web traffic, risk levels, risk appetite of the company. For example, attempts to visit suspicious or unknown sites can be redirected through an isolated browser and ensure nothing malicious is downloaded or sent to the end device.
