Gartner Recognizes AppViewX as a Representative Vendor in its 2020 Market Guide

Recently, Gartner named AppViewX a Representative Vendor in the Pure-Play Network Orchestration category of its 2020 Market Guide for Network Automation and Orchestration Tools.

Read the full report for market analyses and recommendations prescribed by Gartner for I&O leaders looking to adopt/expand network automation in their organization.

The Need for Network Automation and Orchestration (NA/O) Tools in Evolving Networks

According to Gartner, “NA/O tools allow an organization to streamline the configuration and deployment of new private and public network devices and services, and ongoing maintenance of existing network estates. The tools allow for drastically increased agility and efficiency while also lowering costs, reducing the impact of human-induced errors, and improving compliance with required rules, regulations, and laws.”

Gartner further says, “NA/O solutions are often leveraged by NetOps, SecOps, and DevOps teams for the following types of use cases:

  • Control the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of network devices
  • Incident management, including fault isolation, classification, workflow, and remediation
  • Reduction in the amount of time employees spend on repetitive tasks, while also decreasing — and, over time, eliminating — human errors.
  • Vulnerability remediation
  • More accurate and real-time provisioning of public cloud services

The Progression of NA/O and its Impact on the Overall Business

According to the market analysis conducted by Gartner, “A growing number of IT operations teams have begun to realize that they must change their current approach. Unless they increase their agility and responsiveness to business expectations, they risk being unable to provide the level of service expected by both end-users and C-level management.”

From our understanding, the report goes on to explore the progression and impact of NA/O in various network domains, such as the public cloud, IBN, and SD-WAN. It also discusses the impediments to NA/O, namely culture, and the fear of vendor lock-in.

AppViewX: A Gartner Recognized Representative Vendor

Gartner has identified six categories of NA/O tools based on varying levels of scope and maturity. They are:

  • NCCM vendors
  • Pure-play network orchestration vendors
  • Network infrastructure vendors offering NA/O
  • Vendors offering NA/O via an open-source software model
  • Vendors with products that include NA/O features
  • Other NA/O-related vendors

AppViewX is a Representative Vendor in the Pure-Play Network Automation and Orchestration category. We believe this is because it provides dedicated multi-vendor network orchestration across heterogeneous environments.
