The Fifty-Nine

ByteDance’s TikTok is listed among the fifty-nine mobile apps that have been identified by Indian Security Services and other other agencies and ministries of the Republic of India as “engaging in activities that threatened “national security and defence of India”, reports TechCrunch’s Manish Singh.

Given the propensity of the People’s Republic of China and it’s single political party the Chinese Communist Party, to engage in tradecraft and propagandizing through mobile applications, doesn’t it make sense for all democracies to scrutinize the applications targeted by the Republic of India – the world’s largest democracy – and a trusted ally of the United States of America, as well?
