WeAreDelphix: Meet Alan Levy
What do you do at Delphix and what inspired you to join the company?
I’m an IT Manager, leading the global IT Service team to ensure consistent and effective support for our employees worldwide. This includes taking ownership of both help desk and video conference performance.
I joined Delphix in June 2017 as a part-time IT Specialist while finishing my last university course. I had a strong interest in business IT services, and Delphix seemed like a great fit because of its friendly culture, level of collaboration, and the opportunities for growth at the company. It’s not very often one gets to say that they love going to work!

Our IT services and applications. Working in IT means I constantly interact and engage with different teams and help them meet their needs from troubleshooting everyday issues to ensuring we deliver great user experiences. Unrelated to Delphix, I also love talking about the future of Apple and Tesla products! Feel free to also strike a conversation with me with everything and anything technology-related!
What’s the coolest project you’ve worked on at Delphix?
I had a lot of fun working on a project with our Operations and Technical Services teams around the first half of 2019. They were on the search to solve file storage and permissions issues for collaboration folders in Google Drive. I had the opportunity to build out a hierarchy of folders and permissions from scratch, helping to overcome current and potential future obstacles that could come with migrating tons of data.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The grass isn’t greener on the other side; it’s greener where you water it. I like this because it is saying that it’s usually better to devote your time and energy into the concern that lies in front of you instead of turning away from it.
What song instantly puts you in a good mood?
Regardless of the mood, I could listen to any song by Queen, especially “Don’t Stop Me Now!” They’re perfect for every situation.

What drives you everyday?
Making a positive impact. Having the opportunity to make contributions to different teams in a variety of ways makes my experience here rewarding, and I’m able to learn something new on a pretty frequent basis. I love knowing that I get to come into work everyday with a company culture that shares the same values.
