Does Your Business Have a Cybersecurity Weak Spot?
26% of IT professionals believe that they could currently be undergoing a breach without even knowing it. This is according to Bitdefender’s recent Hacked Off! report which looked at the weaknesses, stress points and strategy when it comes to cybersecurity in organisations. The weak spots revealed are particularly interesting because it highlights the areas which are most vulnerable for organisations as well as the things that are keeping IT professionals up at night – unsurprisingly, there were quite a few.
The biggest threats
Despite 57% of IT professionals rating their cybersecurity as very good or excellent, almost a quarter of organisations have already suffered a breach in 2019 so far. The biggest threat was believed to be a phishing or whaling attack (36%) followed by Trojans (29%) and Ransomware (28%). The two most significant impacts that are feared should an organisation be breached are business interruptions (43%) and reputational damage (38%), but what exactly does this mean for organisations?
While cybersecurity is good within most organisations, threats are very real and more can and should be done to protect them. The consequences aren’t just names strewn across the front pages of newspapers, but the risk of losing revenue and potentially even being put out of business.
Finding a suitable solution
Ultimately, organisations need to do more.
