On-Premises & Cloud Storage. Audit & Respond to your Hybrid File Environment.

With the new launch of FileAudit 6, IT professionals can now get insights into the access to and usage of data stored across both cloud and on-premises environments. Furthermore, FileAudit can now automatically respond and take action when an alert is triggered.

What’s new with FileAudit 6.0

IS Decisions has made two major updates to FileAudit:

Keep your data safe in the cloud: FileAudit extends its capabilities to files and folders stored by OneDrive for Business, Google Drive, Dropbox Business and Box.

React automatically to an abnormal event: FileAudit will be able to trigger a specific action when something is detected by a FileAudit alert.

What cloud monitoring means for your environment

Today many IT administrators are having to manage a hybrid approach to their data storage, whereby the organization uses a combination of on-premises and cloud storage. But when it comes to monitoring critical and sensitive access to shared files and folders, organizations are struggling. They are unable to get a consistent view of data access in this new hybrid environment. Organizations need a complete picture of what actions are transpiring – both on-premises and in the cloud.

Easy to install and available on subscription, FileAudit will continue to work in the same way as it does for Windows Active Directory, but now you’ll have the option to add FileAudit’s capabilities to one or a combination of these cloud storage providers as well.

Setup is quick and easy. You’ll be able to benefit from monitoring access to data from a single administrative portal, helping to keep data safe whether its stored on-premises or in the cloud.

monitor both on-premises and cloud storage

  • A real-time and historical audit trail of who accessed (or attempted to access) critical files, what they did, when they did it and where they did it from.
  • FileAudit also alerts on abnormal actions, helping teams to quickly identify inappropriate file activity and potential abuse.
  • In addition, comprehensive and centralized reporting gives precise answers about malicious access, alteration or the destruction of sensitive files.

Trigger an automated response to an alert

File auditing, mixed with an ability to alert IT and Security teams of the presence of suspicious file access activity can easily put proper attention on what may equate to a data breach. But spotting a breach – even minutes after it has occurred – may be a case of too little, too late. What IT organizations also need is an ability to stop a breach before damage is done.

FileAudit can now automate responses to specific file activity. Whenever an action triggers an alert, FileAudit can execute a script, for example to either log off a user or shut down a machine.
