Atlas Quantum breach affects 261,000 users | Avast

Over the weekend, cryptocurrency investment platform Atlas Quantum reported it had suffered a data breach that compromises the personal info of 261,000 users. As of yet no funds have been stolen from any accounts. The breached info includes names, phone numbers, email addresses, and account balances.

Atlas Quantum users have cryptocurrency accounts with the platform from which they can buy and sell on various other trading platforms. As the company investigates the breach, some features on the Atlas Quantum platform have been deactivated. It is unknown who the hacker or hacker group may be.

Users who would like to check to see if their email address was stolen in this or any breach can check the Have I Been Pwned database.

If your information was breached, Avast suggests you take immediate action to:

  1. Change and strengthen all passwords — Double down on all your passwords by following today’s best practices for strong password ideas. Consider using a password manager to remember the longest, most uncrackable passwords you or our Avast Random Password Generator can concoct.

  2. Use an antivirus — Once your info is out on the dark web for others to buy and sell, you may experience an influx of spam and phishing scams. An antivirus will see these coming and block them before they can do any harm. Download Avast Free Antivirus and stay protected.
