What It Means to be a Mission-Driven Company
On behalf of the entire team, I’m excited to share that Semperis has been named to Inc.’s 2022 list of Best Workplaces. This annual list honors workplaces that are ranked highly by their employees on topics like benefits, trust in senior leadership, change management, and career development. I could not be more pleased to be recognized as a Best Workplace, and to give credit where it’s due: our entire team’s hard work, ingenuity, thoughtfulness, and commitment to our goal as a mission-driven company.
At Semperis, we often note that we’re “mission-driven.” Across every department, we’re united by a common goal: to be a force for good. I’ve been asked what that means to us.
What do we mean by “mission-driven”?
Foremost for Semperis, it means helping organizations—and society as a whole—fight back against the impact of cyberattacks. With ransomware growing in intensity, targeting not only businesses but critical infrastructure services such as healthcare, this mission is the guiding star in everything we do. Cyberattacks don’t just harm companies; they harm people. We understand that people—those we serve, those who work at Semperis, those who form our communities—are the most important aspect of our business. They determine our success. So naturally, we place culture first when it comes to creating an exceptional workplace.
Supporting high growth by supporting our people
We recognize that our people value a path to achieve both professional and personal goals, especially within a high-growth company like ours. We encourage managers to meet with team members regularly to support development, growth, and career advancement. Outside of work, we celebrate personal growth and well-being with employee athletic groups and hobbies such as astronomy studies. This comradery, coupled with our meaningful work, has been a winning combination that enables us to create a productive, enjoyable, and fulfilling work environment. In fact, over half of our workforce was referred to Semperis by existing employees—something I believe reflects our team’s positive feelings about our mission-driven company and helps qualify us as a “best workplace.”
Fighting the good fight against cyberattacks
I’m incredibly proud of the work our team has accomplished to propel our mission over the past year. We launched a ransomware task force to help healthcare companies and other critical infrastructure sectors recover from the growing number of cyberattacks that place public health and safety at risk. Our team of seasoned identity security experts built a free cybersecurity assessment tool to help the community identify vulnerabilities in Active Directory (AD) and Azure AD—the identity systems used in 90% of enterprises.
Giving back to our communities
The recognition on Inc.’s Best Workplaces list bolsters our commitment not only to do what is good for business but also to do what is good for the communities in which we live and work. I’ve been inspired and humbled by our team’s generosity in giving back to those communities through our Good Semperian program, which offers dedicated resources and paid time off to volunteer at various charities. Initiatives like these demonstrate our entire team’s dedication to our mission.
