An update from the SANS Institute

As the novel coronavirus outbreak continues to expand globally, SANS is doing everything we can to protect our students, instructors, and staff. We remain committed to bringing exemplary cybersecurity training to students around the world, but your safety is our top priority. To fulfill both of these goals, we are modifying all live events now through June 1st and moving as many events as possible to virtual CyberCasts. If you are currently registered for in-person training, our aim is to reach out to you personally as soon as possible regarding your training options. Our Training Guarantee is in effect so you can continue to plan for training and know that your purchases are protected from financial risk (https://www.sans.org/training-guarantee).

Some of you might be wondering how this will affect the delivery of SANS training over the next few months. SANS has offered online training options for more than 15 years, and the platforms we provide have been battle-tested and are outfitted to deliver the exceptional hands-on cybersecurity training that the community expects from SANS. We have trained tens of thousands of students on these platforms that deliver the same outstanding learning outcomes as our traditional live training.

In addition, SANS is also committed to supporting the community through the sharing of free content and resources that will help professionals improve their job skills. In the days and weeks to come, we are releasing:

  • Videos & Deployment Guides on how employees can secure their work-from-home environments.
  • Expanding SANS.org/free offerings
  • Opening CTF’s and challenges to support continuous learning

SANS is continuously evaluating the situation and will provide updates as the news continues to evolve. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. (https://www.sans.org/about/contact/)
