What do you do at Delphix and what inspired you to join the company?
I’m the senior manager of global campaigns on the digital marketing team. I run Delphix’s webinars, syndication and email marketing programs, as well as collaborate on the digital strategy for advertising and paid social campaigns, and sponsored content programs.
I joined Delphix in April 2017 when I learned about the company from a former colleague who had just started working there. She was building out the demand center and got me really excited about all the possibilities and opportunities to contribute to the brand and vision for the company. For all you non-marketers, what this really means is that Delphix is and was a place where hard work, dedication, fast failures, and creative thinking are welcome.
And this is exactly why I’m still at Delphix. The environment is demanding, yet collaborative. It’s also fast-paced, but there’s always opportunities to learn and try new things. Most of all, I love the people.
You can ask me anything about…?
Audience acquisition for webinars, optimizing budget across various digital channels, and topical nurture strategy versus persona-based nurture strategy.
What’s the coolest project you’ve worked on at Delphix?
The Delphix rebrand and introduction into the DataOps category was one of the most fun projects I’ve ever worked on. It was really more of an adventure than a project. We rebranded and repackaged Delphix into the Delphix DataOps Platform and hosted a company wide and customer-facing event with live-streaming and a film crew on-site. The entire marketing team worked tirelessly to introduce new messaging, a new website, new branding guidelines, and more.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
I was at a women in tech conference a few years ago and heard an interesting bit of advice from one of the keynote speakers: Have a Board of Directors for every aspect of your life. Meaning, find individual experts or mentors for your career, personal life, family life, spirituality, and hobbies.. This really stuck with me because it just makes so much sense; it’s so simple. If you’re wanting to get to the next stage in your career, settle down with that perfect someone, or plan for a large financial undertaking, don’t you want guidance from someone who’s already walked the path you’re about to embark on?
To put it simply, take advice from those who have accomplished something you’d like to accomplish. At the same time, be wary of everyone else in your life who means well with their meaningless advice.
Lastly, pay it forward. Don’t hesitate to help someone with something you’re already good at or even buy a drink for a stranger at your local coffee spot. You never know what a small gesture or a bit of direction will do for someone. I promise you, it’s no skin off your back.
What song instantly puts you in a good mood?
“Danza Kuduro” by Don Omar. I listen to this song on repeat all the time, especially while running. Totally gets me energized!
What drives you everyday?
Everything I have yet to experience and all the things I haven’t learned about in life yet. I’m definitely someone who can live in my head a bit, so I’m constantly thinking about “the next thing” – what new city or country I’ll explore this year, what new challenges and opportunities will come up at work, who will come in and out of my life, or how life will change in the coming year. The unknown gets me really fired up and excited with all of its possibilities.
