What a Night at Ignite

RE3wtYV

After becoming a Product Manager at Bitglass, I eagerly waited to attend my first conference. Following my experience at Microsoft Ignite, I can confirm that my fervor was well warranted. The conference consisted of entertaining booth duty shifts, newly formed relationships with astute individuals coming from a range of industries, and countless informational sessions.

At our Bitglass vendor booth, armed with the VP of Corporate Sales, a Product Marketing Manager, a Solutions Engineer and myself, this diverse Bitglass team was ready to meet anyone curious about what we do as a company. We were surrounded by the security concerns from individuals spanning various platforms, with many gaining answers through us since cloud security is Bitglass’ forte. Through live demos and pure conversation, we had a great opportunity to showcase what Bitglass accomplishes to people who hadn’t yet heard of our growing company.

Each day also had windows for us to attend the many sessions Microsoft was hosting. The sessions were on topics ranging from top cloud access security broker (CASB) use cases to how to maximize generational diversity in your modern workplace. Being able to hear the perspective of larger companies gave me newfound insight that I hope I can bring back to Bitglass in the features I build and the product areas I grow.

Besides the “work-side” of things, there was an evening event at Universal Studios that was an absolute blast. With my Harry Potter Butter Beer in hand, the Bitglass team and I ran from ride to ride, enjoying the beautiful, albeit humid Florida weather. I enjoyed this time to grow closer to our team and have fun together outside of work. Overall, this conference was a fantastic experience, in both the knowledge I learned and the memories I made.
