Yet, application security hasn’t always received the attention during the application development process it deserves. Many organizations deploy applications with known vulnerabilities to meet their deadlines, with the idea that they’ll be addressed in the next update. That’s a dangerous gamble.

DevSecOps practices can reduce or eliminate vulnerabilities from making it into the application in the first place. But unfortunately, it’s still early days as far as mastery of DevSecOps is concerned. That means there are still many insecure applications running in production environments.
