Surya Varanasi
Prior to joining StorCentric, Surya Varanasi co-founded Vexata - a scalable NVMe high performance flash storage system that powers today's advanced cognitive era applications. Varanasi has previously served as vice president of R&D at EMC where he was responsible for the VIPR data platform, SRM (storage resource manager), AppSync (snapshot management), UIM (VCE) and Smarts network management. Before EMC, Varanasi was VP of R&D at VMware where he managed ESXi, vCenter and the Graphics teams. He has 30+ patents in the fields of networking, storage and video stream processing. Varanasi has a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a MS in Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
