Java developers work hard to create and deploy performant and scalable applications as quickly as possible, but in some cases, it’s likely that they don’t know how many direct dependencies their application uses. It’s also very likely they don’t know how many transitive dependencies their application uses either.  As a result, malicious actors have set their sights on targeting open source dependencies knowing that most Java developers won’t have much visibility to the entire dependency tree of their application.

Luckily, Snyk and Red Hat have partnered up to create a pragmatic solution for developers, combining the visibility of Red Hat’s CodeReady Dependency Analytics (CRDA) with the Snyk’s intelligence and remediation capabilities to find and easily fix vulnerabilities and license violations in open source dependencies. In this live-hack webinar, you’ll get a chance to see how vulnerabilities in the Java eco-system are exploited using commonly known attack vectors.

In this live-hack session, we’ll demonstrate:
  • Some of the most commonly known exploits for Java applications
  • How some of these vulnerabilities can be exploited
  • How to use Red Hat CRDA to find direct and transitive dependencies in your code
  • How to use Snyk for analysis on exploit maturity, vulnerable functions, existing patches, and malicious information
  • How to use Snyk to automatically remediate security issues in your Java application

What You’ll Learn in This Webinar

You’ve probably written a hundred abstracts in your day, but have you come up with a template that really seems to resonate? Go back through your past webinar inventory and see what events produced the most registrants. Sure – this will vary by topic but what got their attention initially was the description you wrote.

Paint a mental image of the benefits of attending your webinar. Often times this can be summarized in the title of your event. Your prospects may not even make it to the body of the message, so get your point across immediately.  Capture their attention, pique their interest, and push them towards the desired action (i.e. signing up for your event). You have to make them focus and you have to do it fast. Using an active voice and bullet points is great way to do this.

Always add key takeaways. Something like this....In this session, you’ll learn about:

  • You know you’ve cringed at misspellings and improper grammar before, so don’t get caught making the same mistake.
  • Get a second or even third set of eyes to review your work.
  • It reflects on your professionalism even if it has nothing to do with your event.
