IronNet named a “Vendor Who Shaped the Year” for second time by IDC

IDC released its Worldwide Cybersecurity AIRO and Tier 2 SOC Analytics Market Shares, 2020. The Seeds That Become Cloud-Native XDR, which highlights the growth of the $12.8B advanced cybersecurity market that include Network Intelligence and Threat Analytics, mobile device management and the emerging cloud-native extended detection and response (XDR) category. For the second time in less than twelve months, IronNet was highlighted as a Vendor Who Shaped the Year for our ability detect threats using AI-based behavioral analysis and our ability to generate attack intelligence through IronNet’s unique real-time Collective Defense capability.

With cyber attacks like SUNBURST, Colonial Pipeline, and Kaseya making headlines, it is clear that network defenses continue to play an important role in any organization’s cybersecurity controls. The ability to identify suspicious activity using advanced and scalable behavioral analytics on network traffic, and the ability to automatically acquire contextual data and prioritize detected anomalies using industry leading response playbooks based on risk to the organization through the use of an Expert System, is critical for modernizing cyber defense against supply chain threats, ransomware attacks, and other high impact cyber attacks.

Equally important is the ability to share attack intelligence in near real-time across a community of peers in a Collective Defense formation. The ability to share threat insights across a supply chain, business ecosystems, region, or nation against the numerous threat groups (e.g., such as Russian cyber attack groups) allows enterprises to scale cyber defenses to meet these targeted threats.

“The IronNet differentiator is its Collective Defense platform that consists of its IronDefense network detection and response and its unique IronDome threat sharing solution that facilitates a crowdsource-like environment, in which IronDefense threat detections from individual companies are shared anonymously and in real time among members of a secured Collective Defense community … IronNet addresses the scarcity of security professionals, closing the talent gap with AI-based behavioral analytics that automatically detect and rate alerts.”  — Christopher Kissel, Research Director, Security & Trust Products

IronNet’s second IDC “Vendor Who Shaped the Year” designation in the past year

This marks the second designation from IDC in the past year, highlighting the continued expansion and industry adoption of IronNet’s NDR and Collective Defense capabilities. Our ability to leverage advanced behavioral analytics and machine learning techniques to find suspicious behaviors and leverage our Collective Defense capability to help identify new and novel threats hitting companies across a sector, supply chain, or other tailored business ecosystem addresses a key cyber defense challenge that our founder GEN (Ret.) Keith Alexander observed while serving as Director of the National Security Agency (NSA) and US CYBERCOM. Our ability to innovate and bring to unique solutions that help improve how public and private sector enterprises defend in cyber is why IDC named us as a “Vendor Who Shaped the Year” in the AIRO category:

“IDC believes that good technology creates revenue opportunities and this becomes a virtuous cycle. However, IDC is recognizing larger hopes … IronNet is noted [among companies that excelled in 2020 and into early 2021] for building cybersecurity practices for vertical markets but also for initiating a private organization and U.S. government threat defense collective.”

From our executive leadership and security operations center to our Customer Success team, IronNet is working closely, on a daily basis, with our customers to engage with them on the latest discussions taking place at local, state, national, and international levels to ensure that, together, we are transforming cybersecurity at an operational level. Our goal is to respond to attackers as a unified front through Collective Defense.

We will continue to innovate with our technology partners AWS, Microsoft, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, and others to deliver effective and highly integrated detection and response capabilities that extend how security teams defend their enterprises.
