TalaTek Achieves CMMC AB Registered Practitioner Organization Designation

Company Continues to Expand Expertise in CMMC Compliance

TYSON’S CORNER, Va., December 14, 2020TalaTek, an integrated risk management firm, today announced that it has been recognized by the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Accreditation Board (AB) as a Registered Practitioner Organization (RPO).

TalaTek’s RPO status is a critical element on the path to becoming accredited as a CMMC certifier, once it is possible to do so, and enables the company to play a larger role in helping clients achieve CMMC. This designation demonstrates that TalaTek is familiar with the basic constructs of the CMMC Standard and is able to deliver CMMC consulting services.

In addition, TalaTek’s Director of Operations, Johann Dettweiler, has achieved Registered Practitioner (RP) status from CMMC AB.

“We are excited that the CMMC AB has recognized TalaTek as a Registered Practitioner Organization and Johann as a Registered Practitioner,” said Baan Alsinawi, Founder and President, TalaTek. “We’re leveraging our CMMC expertise to guide organizations through the CMMC compliance process, and these certifications are another step in our ability to support organizational compliance needs.”

For organizations that will be required to get CMMC certification at a certain level, TalaTek can help them to take the necessary steps by first performing a NIST 800-171 gap analysis. As part of this process, TalaTek will implement a roadmap for organizations to follow to ensure they address the appropriate NIST 800-171 requirements and assist in creating the necessary documentation. The CMMC standard is heavily based on NIST 800-171 security requirements.

The CMMC Model itself is created, managed and mandated by the Department of Defense (DoD). Its purpose is to validate the security of the DoD’s 300,000 vendors throughout its supply chain and includes five levels of certifications. The CMMC-AB is still in the process of establishing the requirements for becoming a certified third-party assessor. More information is available here.
