AttackIQ Named one of the 2020 Best Small & Medium Workplaces™ by Great Place to Work® and Fortune

Exciting news! AttackIQ has been named one of the 2020 Best Small & Medium Workplaces™ by Great Place to Work® and Fortune. This is our first year on the list and we landed the No. 51 spot. The ranking is based on confidential survey feedback representing more than 189,000 employees working at small- and medium-sized businesses in America. Great Place to Work, a global people analytics and company culture research firm, evaluated more than 60 elements of team members’ experience on the job — everything from trust in leadership and respectful treatment to camaraderie and decision fairness.

2020 has been a challenging year to navigate, and we are incredibly proud of how the team has worked together to preserve our transparent, high-trust culture and focus on our mission to make the world safe for compute. I believe we made this list for three elements of our culture that I appreciate.

Firstly, we care about our people. When AttackIQ went into shelter-in-place on March 17th, we sent all of our employees work-from-home care packages and funded home office requirements. To foster camaraderie, we encouraged manager-level weekly video coffee meetings and happy hours with teams. We launched new slack channels to connect people from San Diego to Barcelona including “Throwback Thursday” where people share fun nostalgic posts and pictures and “Good Vibes” for tips, recipes, book/movies recommendations, and ideas. Since we couldn’t hold the traditional company outing this summer, we gave everyone the same paid day off to show our thanks and appreciation.

Secondly, we value respect for one another. As a country, the United States has  experienced tremendous social unrest and injustice in the midst of the pandemic, especially following the death of George Floyd. As a company, we were swift, authentic, and clear about our view on George Floyd’s death, the conversations and protests that have arisen  as a result, and our stance on racism and violence. In our company we  will not tolerate or condone any form of illegal discrimination, harassment, or instance of hostility. We believe in a culture of respect, fairness, and safety.

Thirdly, we care deeply about our mission. In the midst of a turbulent year, we’ve continued to give back in order to help our customers and the cyber community at large. We released a brand-new Academy to educate security teams on critical concepts that will help them bolster their defenses including purple teaming, operationalizing MITRE ATT&CK, and simulating breach and attacks. Academy courses are free and students get complimentary certifications upon completion that qualify for ISC(2) CPE Credits. On the technology front, we introduced a new Security Optimization Platform to arm cybersecurity leaders with the insights they need to better assess if their security controls are working and improve their overall security posture. This has been very timely, as customers are dealing with both tighter budgets from the economic situation and escalating cyber attacks.

I’m honored that we landed on the list of 2020 Best Small & Medium Workplaces™ by Great Place to Work® and Fortune. AttackIQ is leading the emerging market of breach and attack simulation and shaping the way organizations validate and improve their cybersecurity controls. Our team is passionate. Our mission is bold.

As you think about where you want to make an impact in your career, I encourage you to put us on your short list of best places to work. Join us in making the world a safer place to compute!

Thank you to every AttackIQ employee who made this distinction possible!
