ManagedMethods and Netop Partner to Bring Cybersecurity & Student Safety Monitoring to Netop’s Vision Classroom Management Software

ManagedMethods Netop Cybersecurity Student Safety Vision Classroom Management SoftwareBOULDER, Colo.—April 15, 2020—ManagedMethods, a leading Google G Suite and Microsoft 365 cybersecurity and student safety platform for K-12 school districts, has partnered with Netop, the provider of Vision classroom management software, making it easy for districts to monitor and modify student activity on computers. Through the partnership, Netop is able to expand the protection it provides on student devices into the cloud, to better protect students and staff using G Suite and Microsoft 365 applications—particularly in remote learning environments.

“School districts are increasingly embracing cloud applications and students spend more time in the digital world now than ever before. As a result, schools are becoming more aware of the need to protect the data being created and stored in the cloud,” said Charlie Sander, Chief Executive Officer at ManagedMethods. “We look forward to our partnership with Netop to give its school district customers the protections needed to secure their students and staff, and keep sensitive data in the cloud private.”

With Netop Vision, teachers are able to easily monitor and modify student activity on computers to enhance learning and keep students safe inside the classroom. However, the rapid rise of remote learning is forcing schools to make classrooms virtual via the cloud. This is where ManagedMethods comes into play.

ManagedMethods will enable districts using Netop Vision to have visibility and control into their G Suite and Microsoft 365 applications to secure sensitive data using machine learning-powered threat detection – from any location, on any device. Districts will be better protected against cybersecurity threats such as malware, phishing, data loss, and account takeovers. They’ll also be able to monitor for student safety signals such as threats of violence, cyberbullying, domestic abuse and self-harm red flags, in both text and images within these apps.

“Netop works with thousands of educators to keep their students safe and on task during class time. Our partnership with ManagedMethods allows us to extend that safety and security from the device to the cloud,” said Matt Hall, Executive Vice President, Education at Netop. “We are excited to be able to offer this important service to our customers.”
