Verodin with Guns ‘N’ Roses in Brazil by Brian Contos

Jeff Seely and I were flying back to Sao Paulo from Porto Alegre Brazil. I blogged about us spending some time there with a few customers and partners at the Dublin Irish Pub to see a band called the Youngles.

So, Saturday morning I see this guy in the airport walking by that looks like Axl Rose (lead singer for GNR). Then a few minutes later, a guy that looks like Slash (lead guitar for GNR) sits next to me. Sure enough, it was Guns N’ Roses – or at least a Brazilian Guns ‘N’ Roses cover band.

We started talking and they turned out to be really cool guys. Being a big Guns N’ Roses fan I had to, of course, get a photo at the airport. Then they invited us to a show at 2:00 am in Taubaté Brazil (about two-hours outside Sao Paulo) at a club called Mutley Music Bar.

Fast forward a few hours to Saturday night. We made some phone calls and in no time, we had some engineers from our partner Apura packed into a car with us heading off to Mutley Music Bar to go see a band that we just met perform at 2:00 am in a town we’ve never heard of. And it was awesome!

We had a great time with the guys from Apura. The club was packed and the band was incredible. If you ever get a chance to see Guns ‘N’ Roses Cover Brazil perform– take it, you won’t be disappointed.
