Providing a More Complete Security Infrastructure

Cloudspace USA is in the business of selling infrastructure-as-a-service to small and medium businesses. Cloudspace provides its customers with a managed network comprised of everything you need to run a business network—that includes security. David Levin, founder and CEO of Cloudspace USA, recently sat down with us to talk about why he chose Alert Logic to provide that security.

Cloudspace is a relatively small business itself. The company promises a high-quality, secure infrastructure. Cloudspace has customers that operate 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, so it must provide security on a 24 / 7 basis as well. With limited resources and security expertise in-house, Cloudspace struggled to provide adequate security at scale, so they looked for security solutions to help address that need.

Levin shared that as they searched for security solutions they found vendors with quality security products, and they found vendors with really high-end consultants, but neither of those was what Cloudspace was looking for. What Cloudspace wanted—and found with Alert Logic—is a team or partner that brings quality products and expertise together to help Cloudspace deliver a more complete security infrastructure for customers.

“With Alert Logic, we know in a matter of minutes when someone is trying to attack us, and then we know in a matter of minutes–or seconds–that we have been attacked and we have a partner in Alert Logic who is providing us with continuous information about what’s going on with the attack, how to remediate it, and what to block–what to stop the process from moving forward,” explained Levin. “So, we can handle much more sophisticated attacks today and much quicker than we could in the past.”

Alert Logic provides peace of mind. The problem with cybersecurity tools or cybersecurity experts alone are that security isn’t a challenge that can be addressed with point solutions and it requires persistent monitoring and expertise. Security is holistic and ongoing. Alert Logic is able to provide Cloudspace with an effective network IDS solution along with the expertise of SOC analysts who monitor for suspicious or malicious activity around the clock, so Cloudspace doesn’t have to.

“If I gave advice to peers or colleagues around security, especially cloud security, I would say there is no too much security. And my first inkling of Alert Logic after using it for 4 years, I realized there really is no too much security in the IT business. Alert Logic has delivered a level of security that keeps me confident that I can run my business without people breaking in and stealing our data.”
