Manuel Delia’s blog is down after a DDoS cyberattack
Maltese journalist Manuel Delia experienced a DDoS attack on his personal website. The blogger expects the attack to have been performed by Ukrainian hackers as the response to his criticism of the government. At the moment, several Maltese websites, which tore into the governmental issues, experienced the negative reaction in various forms. According to Manuel Delia, this was one of the most wicked attacks performed in Maltese history.
Investigating the Rosenburg schools cyberattack
Malefactors hacked the Roseburg Public School’s computer system earlier this month. The investigation on the case of a ransomware attack is being conducted by the FBI and it is recommended not pay the ransom. The access to the district emails is regained and the website is supposed to be up next week.
DDoS cyberattack hit Verge cryptocurrency

Another DDoS attack targeted the cryptocurrency coin Verge (XVG). The company representatives made a post on the official Twitter account stating mining pools to be under the malicious actions. In a few hours after the breach, the hacker managed to get away with almost 35 million XVG worth $1.75 million.
The City of Winder was to pay $320,000
Stealing cryptocurrency is not the only way for hackers to get money: the City of Winder’s servers were hit by a new virus that hadn’t existed before. The attackers demanded a ransom that is one bitcoin per server. The total sum of the ransom amounts to $320,000.
