Week 5 of the Girls Who Code program at Akamai was action-packed. The class attended a User-Experience (UX) workshop onsite at Akamai’s headquarters in Cambridge, Mass. The instructors, formerly of Twitter and currently Google UX experts, led the girls through an activity in which they designed their own photo-sharing application.
The girls began by learning about storyboarding as a technique. They created paper-based storyboards, and followed that with using Photoshop to make prototypes of their designs. The class will apply these new techniques to designing their final projects in the coming days, as we approach the Girls Who Code graduation later in August. The summer (and this program) is going by fast!
Watch this space for further updates on the girls’ adventures in storyboarding and coding!
